Emelin® FF is an innovative iron compound that provides effectiveness, good tolerability and ease of administration. It contains Iron Protein Succinylate as a special form of ferric iron (Fe+3) bound with a protein (casein) in a process called succinylation, which stabilizes the complex. Some iron supplements may cause gastrointestinal irritation and constipating effects. The unique iron form of Emelin® FF is insoluble in the stomach and it completely bypasses it without causing irritation. The advanced iron form of Emelin® FF provides maximum and controlled absorption that is gentle on the stomach. The addition of Folic Acid makes Emelin® FF suitable for pregnant women, as well. Supplemental Folic Acid increases maternal folate status and thus reduces the risk for neural tube defects in the developing foetus.
